Note on language. The Korean-language version of these Terms is the authoritative and binding version. This English text is provided as a convenience translation only. If there is any discrepancy between the Korean and English versions, the Korean version prevails.
By downloading or using Samantha, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
Samantha is an AI‑powered English‑conversation and feedback app for users aged 14 and older. You have a spoken conversation with an AI partner and receive a written feedback report afterward. Samantha is a practice tool — it is not a substitute for professional language instruction, and its AI‑generated feedback may contain errors.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 14 years old to use Samantha, and if you are a minor under applicable law, you may use it only with your legal guardian's consent. You sign in with Apple; you are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account).
3. App license (Apple Standard EULA)
Your license to use the App is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, together with these Terms. Where these Terms add service‑specific provisions (such as subscriptions below), they supplement that EULA.
4. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
- Free trial. New users receive a one‑time free allowance of conversation time. It is one‑time per Apple ID, does not renew, and is not restored if you delete and re‑create your account (see the Privacy Policy for how this is enforced).
- Subscriptions. Samantha offers auto‑renewable subscription plans that grant a monthly amount of conversation time. Plan names, prices, and included minutes are shown in the App at the point of purchase and on the App Store.
- Auto‑renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple; refund requests are subject to Apple's policies and are made through Apple. This does not limit any withdrawal or refund rights you may have under applicable consumer‑protection law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App — including not using it for unlawful purposes, not attempting to disrupt or abuse the service or its usage limits, and not attempting to access it other than through the interfaces we provide.
6. AI‑generated content
Conversations and feedback are generated by an AI system and may be inaccurate or inappropriate. They are provided for language‑practice purposes only and are not professional, legal, medical, or other advice. You are responsible for how you use them.
7. Intellectual property
The App and its content (excluding your own input) are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or branding.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that AI output will be accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability arising from our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will revise the "Effective date" and, for material changes, provide notice as appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where a dispute arises between you and us in connection with these Terms, the competent court shall be determined in accordance with the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you reside outside the Republic of Korea, nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
13. Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. The Apple Standard EULA (§3) also sets out additional Apple‑required terms (including that Apple has no maintenance/support or warranty obligation for the App).
